How can a cat scratch injury be treated?

i gave my cat a pill last night and the tip of one claw gave me a shallow puncture. Slightly swollen this am, called nurse line and based on symptoms, determined i didn t need to be seen at that point. i watched it all day. now it s getting pink in the area around the puncture. not sure swelling has increased. what to do?

Nothing much to worry as it is a local abrasion with superficial inflammation.

You can apply topical antibiotics like mupirocin.
