How Can A Cardiac Arrest Be Prevented?

Hi I m an 18 year old boy, and I m curious to know if I m at risk for sudden cardiac death. I do not have any family history of sudden death, or anyone with abnormal heart problems, I have a resting bp of 110/70, and a resting hr of 60, I have no problems exercising, I have gotten multiple ekgs, cardio grams, and a holter monitor all which came back with healthy results, but I tend to have runs of pvcs or pacs (I m not sure which) when I m very anxious. I m worried that it could turn into vfib or vtach, although I remain asymtomatic aside from the palpitations. Thank you for your reply in advance...

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

As I see from what you explain, all tests and examinations you have done show me you are a healthy young man. All I suggest to you is stress control, try to deal situations in easy ways, do one thing at a time. When you think you will have a panic attack take your time, have a deep breath, think positive, have a walk at nature. If symptoms continue, consult your a general practitioner.

Best regards!
