How Can Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever Be Treated?

My son has rocky mountain spotted fever and also is a crop sprayer and has worked with chemicals. He is scheduled with a specialist in the middle of June. He feels as if there are bugs crawling all over him and sees bugs in is food. Is this part of the rocky mountain spotted fever or a reaction to some of the chemicals he has used to spray crops. Is there anything that can help him control the feeling of bugs crawling all over him - it is about to drive him insane. My son is 48 and I am a worried mother,

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

The hallucinations you describe are concerning, and whether or not it is from the chemicals or the Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever, he needs to be seen as soon as possible and be evaluated for chemical exposure, treated for Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever if he has it, and check for any other causes of his psychosis.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Aaron Branch, General & Family Physician
