How Can NPH Be Treated?

I ve been diagnosed by my neurosurgeon as needing a shunt to help control my NPH. Last year,I had brain surgery, a third ventricularcolostomy. It worked very well for 6 months, then symptoms returned. I I don t want a shunt. My neurosurgeon reassured me it would improve my life, bu idea of it makes me anxious.

Generally NPH improve without surgery. You can continue the oral medications like diuretics you are taking. Do frequent follow up and a repeat MRI. Surgery is the last resort and consider anomaly if it is expanding or symptoms are too severe.
