Hi welcome to HCM. difficulty in swallowing can be due to causes inside the food pipe (or oesophagus) or ouside. From inside it may be due to a growth, oesophagitis (due to stomach ulcer)--which is the cause probably in your case. It can also be a problem in the muscles--myasthenia gravis; or nerves(achalasia cardia--more difficulty in swallowing fluids than solids).
You have been diagnosed as Gastritis and probably have accompanying oesophagitis. Please go on a bland diet and small frequent meals for atleast six months and also take medication for acidity and you should improve. You can additionally take an anti anxiety pill for sometime if needed. Hope I have comprehensively answered your query. Regards
Problems outside oesophagus can be in the pharynx (the part between food pipe and mouth), pressure from enlarged heart or lung tumour.
