How can I reach the ideal weight of a 14 year old girl ?

I am currently in the process of losing weight and I have a few questions. What is the optimal weight for a 14 year old girl? I currently weight around 164 lbs and about 5 foot 6 inches tall. Should a 14 year old be on a diet? If so do you recommend any particular type of diet? My pediatrician has told me I am very close to stopping to grow in height and he says to focus some on my weight so my height and weight can average.

Welcome to Healthcare Magic You need to provide your height as well to compute your ideal weight and BMI. You should quit eating junk food, colas, chips, burgers. Eat more fresh fruits and green leafy vegetables. Drink plenty of water. Exercise by brisk walking once your problem settles, for 40 minutes a day. Sleep for 6-8 hours a day. Girls will stop growing by 14-16 years age.
