Dear Doctor When should I take medication against higher blood pressure? What is doing MIcardis? Are there any symtoms for higher blood pressure? How can I know that I really have the blood pressure? What side effects are from using Micardis? Are my question leading to effectivly anlyse the proble in my issue stated? How my question will help you, doctor to better undestand the issue? What is given now is the age, result of the measurement and the drug suggested as my fri Also the point is that my pressure two months ago is reasonably good 129. My friend take Micardis in the morning I during day time have not symptomd Symtoms are rather when I am in bad and eaven more symptoms in the morning. So the treatment which tke my friend does not have any sense for me, as his medication mostly working during daytime but in the morning have pressure as me. So I believe that without finding the reason of this pressure this medication could be only in some way effective to make lower pressure for some time but a problem of pressure would be existed further. But point is that before any reasonable question it is is good to know what the problem is about. I must understand what is your approach to it to be easy understood by me.

Sir,My age is 34 i am an engineer by profession.my problem is that i usually have high BP. I have done certain tests for TSH, Cholesterol,Triglicirides . the results are usually on higher side that means Cholesterol /Trigilcrides above normal.and TSH 10.44. from last two one year i am on low salt diet and low fat diet and i am taking medecine for TSH as well. Now the results which came few weeks before are very good.everything seems to be within limits.but my Blood pressure is still not coming down. Right now it used to be 140/100 which is making me very uncomfortable.like i usually have headache and my eyes are also blurring .I haven t taken any hypertensive drug as yet.I am not able to understand what is the real cause of my raised Blood Pressure and how to cure it.is it safe to start taking hypertensive drugs at this age .do i have to continue taking them even if my B.P gets stable say after one week or so.Do i need to do more investigation to know the real cause and cure it accordingly ? I am a 72 year old woman in good health with elevated BP in morning. Started Bystolic ( less than 2 mg at night) My BP was 113/68 with pulse of 62. Am I getting too low? My family doc says too low is a risk factor for stroke in older women. What say?

Hi, I am 46 y/o female (just turned 46), still active. My height is only 4'9" and weight 122 lb. But my BP and my pulse is high. Usually I don't go to see a doctor, only for my papsmear/mamo. This week I've had a cold and couldn't come to work. I went to see my doctor (after 2 years) and my BP was 150 (didn't tell me how much diastolic was). She just told me to come for another check up in 4 months. I called her next day and asked for some lab tests (cholesterol, creatinine, which I've had done 6 years ago). Why she didn't offer this to me during my visit? Anything else should I check? I decided to change my diet and checking my bp regularly at home. Interesting, that sistolic went down. The highest I've had 123 and lowest 103, but diasolic still high - 79-90. My pulse is 82-96. I think this numbers are telling that I have prehypertension. I work as a sonographer in a busy hospital. My work is also very stressfull. My father died suddenly from the heart attack at 67. My mother has HBP and taking meds. So, I am in high risk. What else can I check (tests) to examine my heart (coronary arteries)? I don't want to start meds.
