How Can I Control My Cholesterol ?

I am a 34 year old wife, mother of a 5 and a half year old son. My problem is that though I eat limited amount of food my cholestrol level is a bit high. On daily excercise it is just above the normal level, does not come down. My food pattern is two chappathis each at breakfast and at night and two big spoonful of rice with two curries, two glasses of tea in the morning and in the evening. We have meat on every sundays, fish curry once in a week, fish fry may be on three or four days a week. No much activity at home. I am considerably fat of 82 kg and a height of 5 feet 3 inches. I do cycling for an hour. If I cycle real fast I feel a pain on the upper chest in the left just below the shoulder line. I tried taking lipid profile quarterly and found the above mentioned result. All the levels are just above the normal. Do I need to take medication? Is any thing wrong with me? I am asking this because I have such limited amount of food and still have high cholestrol levels without excercise and just above the upper normal level with exercise. General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi welcome to Healthcaremagic

The lipid which is present in the blood , is not just one collection,. these lipids get gathered from the childhood and at middle or old age they appear... hence with one day or weeks or month exercise it wont decrease... continue the exercise, avoid oily foods.., there are medications like lipid lowering drugs like atorvastian which will reduce the blood lid level.., consult a physician...
Hope I have answered your question..

Takecare...
