How Can HPV Infection Be Treated?

Hello I am a 55 year old male. in May I had hemorrhoid surgery and revealed HPV. In October I have a surgery to remove the cancerous cell or tissue. I was told by the surgeon that they cleared the areas. I was prescribed a cream to use 3 nights a week, imiquimod. I have my first visit with my primary care physician at Kaiser on 5 Jan 2018. is there a med for HPV? And is there treatment can u explain the levels of HPV

No oral medicines are available to control HPV infection. Surgical excision is the treatment of choice. Imiquimod can chemically destroy the virus at the site of application. If the margins are free of tumor after excision you don’t need to worry much and only frequent follow up is required. No drugs needed.
