How Can HIV Infection Be Managed?

I tested my hiv eclia test first time my value is 2.3, second time I tested on the next day itself they call me they are having a doubt and my value is 0.87.after two days again I gone for medical examination by the government then my value is 3.0...all of them are eclia test ...then again government send for Elisa test...is there any hope for negative.... really I don t have any hope...I hope am positive now..what I want to do next ? How long I alive?...

Hello. Thanks for asking on Healthcaremagic. HIV is a viral infection in which the virus weakens our body's immune system. As a result the patient suffers from superadded bacterial infections and these infections further decrease the span of life. However being infected with HIV doesn't mean that you have Aids. HIV virus may remain latent for years or decades till full blown disease develops. And this latent period can be increased with anti retro viral therapy. The monitoring of disease progression is done by cd4cell count and p24 viral antigen. Kindly consult a specialist for workup and testing. Even if infected with HIV you can lead 2-3 decades of quality life.
