Diabetologist 's  Response
Dear sir I can understand your concern
the medication what your are taking is called as glibenclamide
As per the latest research this medication is not good for heart and also it's associated with severe form of low sugars.
this medication is a powerful stimulant of pancreas so it might make your pancreatitis worsen.
since there is past history of pancreatitis it's better to consider taking insulin for control of diabetes as insulin is having no side effects for pancreas and give you a better metabolic profile than pills
kindly do test like Hba1c to check for average blood sugar
I suggest you to see a doctor and start insulin as per his advice
regards
