How Can Ehlers Danlos Syndrome Be Managed?

My daughter has, I believe, Ehlers Danlos syndrome as do I. She lives in Pasadena California and is looking for a doctor who has experience with ED. She is currently in a great deal of pain and has already had surgery on one of her shoulders. The only treatment offered now is physical therapy and the usual hot/ old packs. NOTHING OFFERED SEEMS TO BE WORKING. HELP! YYYY@YYYY

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello dear, welcome to Ask a doctor service.
I reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Most probably she has Ehlers–Danlos syndromes because it is easy to put the diagnosis knowing that she has hyper-flexibility of joints and over stretched skin also inheritance.
There is no specific treatment for Ehlers–Danlos only physical therapy, maintaining blood pressure within range and pain medications.
Also surgery can help relocation of joints frequency dislocated.

Hope I have answered the question.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
