How Can CPK Level Be Lowered?

Hello Doctor, My father is 83 years old. The CPK level is high around 378. His family doctor stops prescribing him simvastatin 20mg because of that. I would like to know what the treatments for high CPK level and high cholesterol are? Thank you very much for your help.

Hello and welcome to Healthcamagic.
Firstw,I don't see why simvastatin woud not be taken if cpk is high. This is not contraindicated if you ask me. Second, cpk may indicate some heart disorders and you should check your heart, ecg and ultrasound. Cholesterol should be treated with simvastatin and appropriate diet.
I hope I have answered your query. I wish you a nice day.
