How Can C. Difficile Colitis Be Treated?
Hello, I am a care giver and taking care of an old man that been diagnosed of C- difficile, I heard that it s very contagious,how contaious is i and how to prevent not to give it to other elderly to to myself. Right now the man is still at the hospital aand wanted to come home but I am so worried tht we all get it. clostridium difficult infection is common in elderly population , usually caused by increased usage of unnecessary antibiotics
spores for the bacteria are passed in feces and spread to food
preventive measures: through hand washing - after treating the patient, using toilet using soap and water
try using gloves and gowns while handling patients infected with C. difficile
clean the entire room , where the patient was treated
avoid use of unnecessary antibiotics
