Cardiologist 's  Response
high BP can be controlled with non pharmacological ways if it is mild .
1 weight management - maintain normal weight . in your case try to reduce it by 5-6 kgs . Maintain your ideal BMI . You can calculate that easily by using online health calculators .
2Yoga nad gym will e useful .
3 alcohol stopping is really admirable .
4 but in any case if BP levels are higher than moderate range 140 / 90 , consider cardiologist consultations and opinion .

General & Family Physician Dr. Shainaz Arif Kaware's  Response

Thanks for your query.

Self medication or adjustment of dose of medicine can turn out to be harmful.

Also keep in mind that never stop the blood pressure medicines without doctors advice.

Presently you are doing yoga and want to exercise both these are good and healthy lifestyle changes.

Along with this you should completely stop alcohol intake and cut down on fatty fried food.

Follow up with your doctor and get examined and if he feels the dose can be reduced he will advise you accordingly.

Take care.

hi welcome to hcm.see you not mention your bp reading ,because on that we said you required medicine or it control by meditation and yoga ,jim.see if your bp on boderline means 140/90 then you change life style may help u but if your bp above then first start medicine then gradually teppering your dose to avoid further damage to your also start roulfia Q which is homoeopathic preparation which is safe, but with your bp medicine .then when fully control occur then u stop your bp medicine .plus you can do lipid profile to find out cholesterol in limit or not.
