Hoe To Treat S-shaped Red Rash On The Foot, Arms, Face In A Person With Contact Dermatitis?

I have had a rash for over one year that both appears like hives and huge welts and also looks like there is a tiny red thing under my skin. It did not respond to steroids oral or topical. There are sometimes s shaped tracks with red scabs appearing. It was first diagnosed as eczema. It started on my foot after filing a nail fungus and putting oil on it. The oil dripped down on my foot and a very itchy rash started. It then spread to my hand arms and face. Nothing helps not even Atarax any more. A biopsy was done on my neck where the rash looks different , more red and large area. The doctor was shocked that it was not eczema but contact dermatitis. The other rash appears to be something else. I become allergic to Bactroban ointment, had no skin for months on my face from it. Finally they said stop using it and after m,onths that part got better but not the serpintine shaped red dot rash. I am becoming disfigured on my face and eyelids from it. The skin heals briefly, them it begins to peel and lift off my lids. I am going nuts. No moisturize helps the eyes. The dermatologist finally said there was nothing they could do. What is this?

Hi,

I can understand your concern for s-shaped red rash on the foot, arms, face in a person with contact dermatitis. It is difficult to make a exact diagnosis of your condition without pictures but I can make a possibility of Allergic dermatitis.

In Allergic dermatitis there are eruptions along with moderate itching and in more aggravated cases there is appearance of more redness which persist for more than multiple of days. The only precaution you must follow is not to touch, pinch pop or squeeze any of them other wise it can get infected and can cause complications.

If I were your dermatologist then would have prescribed to apply medium potency steroid cream application such as mometasone or fluticasone cream. You can take antihistamine benadryl or loratadine by mouth.

Take care.
