Hit In Side Of Jaw, TMJ Pain. Treatment?

Hi.
I am a veterinarian and just got hit in the side of the jaw by a large dog's flailing head as she stuggled to right herself while dealing with a vestibular disturbance. I took a pretty good hit and now have TMJ pain on the opposite side of the hit. Anything I should do besides a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory like ibuprofen?
Thanks!

Hi,
Welcome to HCM.
Is there swelling in the joint? Continue ibuprofen thrice daily for three days. Local application of analgesic gel will help. If it does not reduce, you need to get an Xray and orthopedic opinion to rule out fracture. Hot fomentation will also help to some extent.
Thanks.
