History Of Drug Abuse And Colon Cancer. Admitted With Ruptured Spleen. Serious?

My father has a history of drug abuse and colon cancer in his past. Due to the drug abuse, my brother and I only want to see my father if it is a near death situation. It has been confirmed that my father is in the intensive care unit with a ruptured spleen. Is this serious enough to drive two and a half hours and see him.?

Hi,
Thanks for writing in to us.

Rupture spleen is a very serious injury and can be life threatening if emergency medical care is not given. I suggest you rush to your father even if its a long drive and try your best effort to see that all essential medical care is given.

Hope this helps
