High Fever Of 104, Shivering, Swollen Gums, Diarrhea, Flu Symptoms ?

Hi, my 18 month old son has had a fever of 104/105 and trembles(shakes involuntarily) for the past 3 days on yesterday I notice his tongue and gums being swollen, he cries randomly uncontrollably throughout the day, diarrhea , and of course sleepless nights. We have went to the emergency room twice and they advised that he has the flu which makes no sense to me. Can someone please help?

Pediatrician 's  Response
If the fever is so high in such a small child it is better you show the child to a pediatrician asap. Give the child plenty of fluids to prevent dehydration. Wipe the whole body with a wet cloth.
