Hello I am 27 coping with family stress. My blood pressure is 150 over 100 and this is when I was feeling calm. What risks I am exposed to right now and in future. Is 150 100 too high. I am pretty fit though always had 120 78 bp. From about 1 and half year I think I am at this level. Please advice
stress is the major reason for hypertension.150/100mmhg value confirm that your hypertensive patient.need not worry consult near by general physician and start your medication for hypertension.and compulsory half an hour walking daily.
diet:avoid more intake of salts and fatty foods.
eat 2 to 3 garlic on daily basis which wil help in maintaining your pressure.
If you drink alcohol, drink in moderation. The recommended suggestions are 1 drink per day for women, and 2 per day for men.
include fresh fruits rich in potassium,magnesium and calcium.
eat fish rich in omega 3 fatty acids which will not only maintain your pressure bt also prevent cardiac problems.
the blood pressure you have mentioned is pretty high for your age esp the diastolic one. high pressure puts you at the risk of myocardial infarction, left ventricular failure, stroke and what not. see in the long run this type of bp if persists will eventually lead to failure of almost all organ syatem including your kidney. stress is not the only cause of this high bp as it usually doesnt lead to increase in diastolic bp you need to consult a cardiologist and start anti hypertensive drugs drugs ASAP. and keep your fitness regimen running.

I ve been on 10mg of Lisinopril for a year and a half with much success. BP has averaged 118-135/78-82. Last week I had an incident of over heating and made a trip to the ER for a stint of IV. The Drs suggested I stay for a stress test,ECG, and Nuclear Images due to my family history of HBP. Ever since my hospital stay, my BP has remained elevated from 135/85-170/100. My Dr increased the Lisinopril from 10mg once a day to 10mg twice a day. My BP is still very high. Concerned!!!
I am 63, weight around 13stones 12, and usually have normal or slightly low blood pressure but my partner who has diabetes and other problems, used his blood pressure monitor on me earlier and it showed 165/89 and a pulse rate of 66 I will make an appointment with my doctor early next week but am concerned, as I haven t felt well for a long time, I have fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue syndrome and due to personal set up here, sleep during the day and am up all night. I am under a lot of stress both personally and financially and have ocd, I hoard. I cannot get the right help for this but currently having counselling. There is a lot of heart disease in both sides of my family, at least three people on my dad s side have/had pacemakers and my mother died from her third heart attack, and had angina. She became diabetic in her 60s and I am just the same body shape as her, apple shaped. Because of my constant tiredness I can t walk far or exercise but try to eat fairly well with lots of veg and fruit. I do eat the wrong things too but never much salt and I don t smoke or drink. I have been given vit d jabs twice in the last 18 months and have Adcal for the vit d too altho I don t take them every day now as I was concerned about heart problems connected with taking too much calcium. Should I be worried? Could this be diabetes causing problems? thanks Liz W.
I am a very fit 45 year old (i run marathons). I have high blood pressure but everything else is normal. Cholesterol is 135, no diabetes, no family history. I meditate 25 minutes a day and eat a pretty healthy diet. Is there anything other than stress that would explain my high blood pressure?

I have been experiencing quivery, trembling, jittery feelings in my head - no pain. Slightly elevated BP (138/96) when my BP is normally 124/74. had thyroid tests done and they all seem normal.
