Hi there. I ve had a spot on my breast that had a purplish color to it that would come and go for a year now. It would stick out slightly compared to the surrounding skin as well. Two days ago after the spot came back and had been there for a month or so the skin on top got really thin and broke. It looks like it is a deep hole and a little bit of puss and a lot of blood came out. What could this be? I have a dr appointment on Tuesday.
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
It looks like a breast abscess if pus and blood oozed from the boil. The doctor will examine you and ask for an ultrasound of both the breasts to make sure there aren't any abscesses/lumps anywhere else. The doctor will start you on oral or intravenous antibiotics depending upon the size of the abcess.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Smruti Pevekar
