Can Ureaplasma Be Transmitted Through Protected Intercourse?
Hi there. I am told that I have ureaplasma. Can I pass that to my partner if he is wearing a condom? I have been dating a guy for a couple of weeks and I have not had sex with him yet. I do not have symptoms of ureaplasma. I had it three months ago and was re-tested. I ll be on doxycycline for 10 days. Please advise...
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
There is very low chances of the transmission of the bug to the partner , for two reasons , one that you are already on treatment, this reduces significantly the transmission , second that wearing condom is very protective as well , so the chance is very low if at all.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
