Hi,

I do not think that her condition of UTI is directly related any way to her symptoms of confusion, disorientation or amnesia (Memory loss). There seems some co-existent condition of brain, may be some stroke as a result of ischemia, hemorrhage or embolism etc., or it may be due to some other condition of brain or nervous system like degenerative or some space occupying lesion due to infective, inflammatory or neoplastic condition. Hence, she needs to be investigated further to elicit a cause of the symptoms and treated accordingly.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
