Hi,

The old Implanon not removed since long can cause local fibrosis and chronic pain. But the recent Implanon inserted causing stinging pain at the point of insertion can be due to nerve fiber irritation while insertion. It can stop within a couple of months when the irritating point can heal on its own after some time. If not needs to be changed. Please contact the inserting doctor.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
