What Are The Side Effects Of Fixcom 4 And How Can They Be Managed?
Hi just want to ask the side effect of a Fixcom 4 my husband taking this as doctor prescribe but since he take this medicine it has a allergic rection on the other part of his body like on lips it has a crack lips hands it has a near like 2nd degree burn no blister but on his anus and penis it has a blister and its hard for him to move very uncomfortable for him. pulmonary doctor said its not on the medicine he take but the urologist said it might be the medicine he take for his lungs. hope you can help me. thank you.

Though this type of side effects with Fixcom 4 is very rare, still there may be minor skin reactions with pyrazinamide or rifampicin, which are constituents of Fixcom 4. Also, a rare form of rifampicin induced skin toxicity--Bullous pemphigoid type reaction is known to occur. Therefore, in my opinion, your symptoms may be related to .Rifampicin some way, at least a possibility.
Hence, in my opinion, the best option seems to drop this medicine from the treatment regimen of your husband at least for a short period and see, if the symptoms subside gradually. If it is so, we may have to stop this drug from your regimen and may be substituted by some other drug like streptomycin etc., under guidance of your doctor, if so needed.
