What Are The Chances Of The Re-occurrence Of Shingles?
Hi. On my left side only from my belly button around to my back, my skin is very sensitive to touch, and when I move, there is tingling - occasionally mild pain. I am 55. I have a very light case of Shingles about 15-20 years ago, and am curious if the two are related ?
It is a very well known thing that shingles (herpes zoster) once occurs, there is very less possibility of recurrence. Life long immunity is likely to occur...which protects the recurrence. In the case of poor immunity by any means might cause recurrence of shingles. In HIV patients it may recur. Malignancy, leukemia or any condition with an immune deficiency may be responsible for the recurrence of shingles.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
