Is Vomiting Caused By Chronic Cough A Matter Of Concern?

Hi I've had a dry cough last night I woke up feeling nauseated, with a headache & fatigue. My nurse gave me robitussion, and another type of medicine to help the symptoms. I started feeling better today just a little tired and still hot. I took some emergenc and robitussin before bed and ended up throwing up from coughing. I feel fine now is this something to be concerned about?

Hi,

Coughing especially when spasmatic, can be associated with vomiting. So, there is nothing to be worried about. Just take medicine as directed, rest more, take more fluids (tea, water, juice). Multivitamin supplementation can help.

Sleep with raised head from the shoulders (with extra pillow). If vomiting within the first hour of taking medicine, have another dose to make sure to complete treatment.
