Hi, I'm taking azithromycin for a rotting broken tooth that will be extracted in a few days. Today is my 1st day taking 500 mg. But it made the pain indescribably horrible! I took 4 tylenols and it didn't help. It actually hurts MORE now than before I went to the dentist. Is this normal? Will this pain go away?

I am sensitive to most medicines. My dentist has prescribed Azithromycin tabs for a tooth that needs to be pulled the tabs are to be taken one hour before my visit. The two tabs, 250 mg each will total 500 mg to take and he prescribed this med because I have a pacemaker and am allergic to penicillin. Do you see any problems with taking this?
