Does A Low Thyroid Level Cause Erectile Dysfunction?

Hi, I suspect that I have a low thyroid. My last TSH number was 4.9. I seem to get cold much easier than my wife who has Graves disease. I don t have any weight problem however. I am 6 feet tall and weigh 155. But I do have a real problem in the Libedo and getting an erection problem. Could those be related and how would I go about getting a subscription to Armor Thyroid?

Hi,

Your TSH seems normal. If you can send your full thyroid report T3, T4, TSH will be easy for proper diagnosis of hypothyroid. Other causes for low libido are
1.     Infections
2.     Diabetes, hypertension.
3.     Hormonal disturbances- Low testosterone, high levels of prolactin.
4.     Obesity
5.     High cholesterol
6.      Chronic disease
7.     Drugs
8.     Anxiety

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. S.R.Raveendran, Sexologist
