Does Taking Unisom Before A Drug Screening Test Affect The Results?
Hi, I have a pre-employment drug screen coming up. I am not a drug user at all, but take unisom sleep gels frequently to fall asleep at night. I ve heard this can cause false positives on a drug screen for numerous things. If I take Unisom the night before my drug test (it is a urine drug test) will this affect the results?

Yes, unisom (doxylamine) is an antihistamine can cause a false positive on drug screening tests for methadone, opiates, or Phencyclidine (PCP). Unisom can stay in the body system for about 8-10 hours. So, it is not advisable for you take unisom the night before your scheduled drug screening tests because it is likely to cause 'false positive' tests for the above mentioned drugs of abuse.
