Hi, I am 49, always regular with my period. I have PMS usually 7-10 days before my period, then a heavy period and than I am normal for a little while. This time, my breast are constantly swollen and hurt even after my period was over and today I saw a light bleeding, had light cramping last night. i am not sure why my breasts stay swollen, my period is not due for another 12 days. And I constantly have to pee, I usually pee a lot but now I feel pressure all the time.

OBGYN 's  Response
Hello,

Considering your age, it is likely that you may have entered the peri-menopause. However, any abnormal bleeding must be investigated. A proper check-up, pap smear, urinalysis, sonogram of the pelvis and the breast are needed to clarify and plan further management.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shanti Vennam, OBGYN
