Herpes outbreak on lips. Taking Zovirax cream, tablets. Alternate anti-viral medication, does sexual contact cause herpes?
i have an herpes outbreak on lips at the moment and it is the 6th or 7th outbreak..the stuff i have read on internet is that herpes is a sexually transmitted disease ..but what if someone hasnt had any detailed physical contact with someone..how true is this that herpes is because of sexual contact...? i have been taking zovirax cream and tablets but is there any other anti viral tablet i can take daily forever to avoid these outbreaks? thanks in advance for your help..God bles u

Hello herpes is present in both genital and nongenital area.mainly gential area herpes is called herpes progenitalis which can be caused by sexual contact and it is caused by hsv2.the herpes on nongenital areas is caused by hsv1 which is a not due to sexual contact.we cant take antiviral for ever but it can be subsided by using suppresive dose of acyclovir for one year.suppresive dose means 400mg twice daily
