Hepatitis C Virus Stage One, SGOT And SGPT Negative. What Is The Solution?
Hi sir i have really unknown problem with my friend she work outside of country and on day we went to medical test and they said that she have hcv but in stag 1 so we send her back and we make test again in Philippine and it show spgt and sgot and it came non-reactive so what that mean why its show non in Philippine and active in where she work brood
Hi, Welcome to HCM. Hepatitis C infection is caused due to blood transfusion of infected blood, sharing infected needles like in drug abusers, tattooing done by infected needles etc. SGOT or SGPT levels are only indicative of liver disease but not hepatitis C. These levels may be fluctuating from normal to abnormal levels in Hepatitis C infection. The confirmatory test done for Hepatitis C infection is demonstration of Anti HCV antibodies by ELISA test. ELISA test for Hepatitis C antigens is also available. I suggest reconfirmation of hepatitis C status for your friend as she has to be treated as soon as possible. Thanks.
