General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

Lump development on left side with pain and while passing motion indicates the following possibilities:
Sigmoid volvulus. This is missed as this may be temporary and an actual X-ray of abdomen during the attack can diagnose thing in a simple way.

Please insist on this, get admitted if necessary where the urgent X-ray facility is available.
Colonoscopy.
CT scan of abdomen and repeated tests of stool should be done to rule out any other problems as you have a history of polyp removal.
All such things disturb the whole GI System and affect other parts of body directly or indirectly.
Once a proper diagnosis is done, it will be easy for a specific management.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. T. Chandrakant, General Surgeon
