Hello, I'm a 63yr old male. I don't smoke, have one beer occasionally, and am not on any meds. I take vitamins in jell caps, as many as six in the morning with black coffee and peanut butter toast. I have advanced genitive bone disease diagnosed when I was 50 which makes it difficult to get much exercise especially walking (no cartilage in my ankles) I had a MRI recently and the results came back that I have Diverticulitis although I don't have any of the symptoms. I have no problems with constipation or diarrhea. No pain and no blood. No fever or nausea. I do however have kidney stones on occasion. 3X in the last 8yrs or so. At present it feels like I have a stone near the end of my urethra that is partially blocking my stream. No visible blood either although through a urine test my DR did find small traces of blood. Only severe pain I experience is when it is traveling through the ureter always on my right side. They also saw in the MRI cysts on my liver that they weren't concerned about (small in size) My question, I've read on line that I should increase fiber intake and also have read the opposite when dieting to give my digestive track a rest. Which is it? BTW I only have red meat once a week if that. Mostly eat fish, chicken, baked potato and salad. Occasionally a taco salad. I recently cut out jalapenos and spicy foods. I really don't want to be scoped. Would rather adjust my diet and increase my exercise with low impact. Question 2, Is there any adverse effects of taking up to 6 gel caps per day? I could dump them out in a protein shake for example. Thanks for your time
