Hello, I have had a repaired ascending aortic aneurism, and 1 stent.
My cardio doc says my bicuspid heart valve will need to be replaced in maybe 7 to 10 years. I take BP medicine only. I am 58 year old male smoker. I was just sitting the other day when I felt a thump in my chest , my heart rate went from 60's to 110, my pressure went from 115/80 ish to 157/98 and I was extremely dizzy and my hands were sweating for a total of 10 minutes then everything went back to normal. ???????

Hi, I am an otherwise healthy 53 y.o. female who had s/s of a heart attack this weekend and went to ER. Borderline ecg, (delayed ventricular response) 171/123 b/p (normal for me is 106/63) - this did trend down to normal after 24 hours. CT revealed a 4 cm ascending aortic aneurism. Otherwise unremarkable. Have been told on various Dr. visits I have a heart murmur. Released from hospital after overnight observation with appt. to get a stress echo in 2 days. Upon researching this I realize I probably have aortic bicuspid valve. Further research shows this to be commonly related to connective tissue syndromes, such as Marfan s or LDS. Wondering what questions I should ask when I get my stress echo, and what I should think about doing next. No family hx other than mom s supraventricular tachy, and dad s a-fib. I am vegetarian, normal weight, exercise regularly, positive thinking, take supplements, eat organic, no junk food. Being so healthy, this was a total shocker. I live in Seattle, I m an RN at UWMC. Any rec s for local care?

hello my brother(age 27) had ascending aortic aneurysm and he got the surgery done two months back, Size of his aorta was over 7cm. I also got the precautionary Echo done and measurements are as follow..: AO(ed) 3.6 la(es) 3.0 rvid(ed) 1.5 lvid(ed) 4.4 lvid(es) 2.8 ivs(ed) 0.9 lvpw(ed) 0.9 ef 65% FS 36% my height- 171 cm weight-88 kg age-24 gender-male So is there chance that I also develop Aneurysm over the time. And at the time of my brother doctor said if size of aorta had been below 4.5cm then things could be cured using medication . But when I counsulted the doctor he said there is no need of medication as of now but suggested me to stop lifting weight and running and did not give any satisfactory reply. So I wanted to ask if there are chances that over the time I would also develop aneurysm ? Is it the right time to start medication or should I wait And if the size is below 4.5cm what is the probability of getting cured by medication ? what precautions should I take ?
