Is It Okay To Switch From Gianvi To Yasmin While Travelling To Have Active Birth Control Precautions In Place?

Hello, I’m currently on vacation and and I’ve lost my birth control pills. I went to a local pharmacy and got replacement pills, but the only pills they had available were Yasmin, and I’m currently taking Gianvi. Should I be concerned about the repercussions of switching types of birth control pills in the middle of the cycle?

Hi,

Both Yasmin and Gianvi are oral contraceptives. You need not change the pills for active contraception during your travel, provided you have taken doses of Yasmin regularly at a fixed time of day.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
