Heaviness In Head And Headaches. BP Shot Up. Help

hi i am a 22 yr old male. Recently i started feeling heaviness in my head with a slight headache . My blood pressure also went up.It is constantly around 140/80.I am am 6 2 and weigh 77kg,so i am not even overweight .Also being a pilot i undergo regular medical check ups,so my ecgs have been done in the past.Also i workout with weights. I request you to kindly help me regarding the same. Thank You. Kunal Ingale

Hi,

Thank you for posting your query.

I have noted your symptoms. BP of 140/80 mmHg is definitely on the higher side for a 22-year-old. You should get evaluated to exclude any secondary cause for high BP such as problems related to kidneys and hormonal imbalance.

As of now, you can take medications such as prothiaden or amitriptyline for a presumed diagnosis of muscle tension headache. However, if the heaviness of head does not subside, then, you should get a brain scan done.
