Heaviness even after passing bowel movements. Gassy, bloated. Unable to have anal sex. Suggestions?

After massive bowel movements every morning I don t feel empty & when I put a lubricated finger in ny rectum I still feel poo. I have diverticular but eat at least 5/6 fruit & veg a day but only about 1 litre of water. Please advise as I enjoy anal sex & it is affecting my love life with my husband as well as being uncomfortable as feel blosted, produce gas as result of poo left in my rectum

As you have diverticles diagnosed I assume that you do have severe constipation. Along with other symptoms your large intestine should be investigated. Colon cancer should be ruled out at first. Especially if you do have blood in stool, have lost some weight recently.
Sometimes such symptoms are caused by IBS due to severe bacterial infection. Thyroid disease, medicines (Ca-blockers, antidepressants), partial bowels obstruction due to Crohsn disease can also give such symptoms.

I suggest you to visit gastroenterologist, have physical examination, stool tests, blood work, thyroid tests and colonoscopy performed. You may ask your doctor also about Mebeverine and Rifaximine treatment.
