Hi,I am Dr. Prabhakar Koregol (Cardiologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I keep having heart palpitations and I m only 16. I ve had them before, but that was once every few months. I m not over weight and I ve been staying away from caffeine. I ve had them coming a lot more often recently, about 1 a day. And today I ve had about 5 short ones under and hour. It feels like a flutter and I m out of breath for a short time.. What s wrong? What do I do?
There may be two reasons for palpitation-change in heart rate, change in heart rhythm. Anxiety and stress can cause increased heart beat. For rhythm changes you need to consult a cardiologist who will take an ECG and decide things.
