My uncle had bypass surgery in Nov of last year. He only had 30% heart function after. now he has a lot of fluid buillding up in his legs, he cannot lay flat without coughing spells with lots of phlem, he rarely eats and now he is blacking out frequently. It is getting progressively worse. Now it is happening several times a day. how much longer do you think he will live like this?

My dad, 90, passed on 3.15pm last Sunday in the hospital s Intermediate Care Area after being admitted late Saturday morning following paleness and abdominal discomfort ealier that morning at home. Heamoglobin level was dangerously low at 4 and blood transfusion was carried out with 40mg Furosemide initially by late evening, and subsequently Epoitine and the usual heart medications he has been on for years since heart bypass. He was previously diagnosed as having stage 4 renal impairment, suspectedly caused by Voltaren treatment following a fall in Nov 20102 which resulted in mild L2 fracture. His Creatinine level improved with Kestosterone and Epoitin (twice weekly) which was subsequently reduced to once weekly. I had stopped him from taking Furosemide, prescribed after his Edema event in March this year, because of adverse side effects and his condition improved with a diet of oats, multivatimins, kidney milk (Nepro for breakfast), fruit and vegetable juice (lunch) and soya milk (night/supper). Was death precipitated by iron insufficiency, leading to heart failure hence Edema and shutdown of kidneys after 40-80-80 doses of Furosemide did not release no more than 750ml of urine (on Saturday only)?
5'6" 175lbs in great shape. I run and walk and weight train. my heart started to "stutter" about 4 or 5 days ago and is increasing in occurence. sometimes multiple stutters. 47 years old. no history of heart disease. low cholesterol levels. low blood pressure.
My husband's heart is beating loudly and seems to be beating irregularly. I took his blood pressure and it was normal. His heart rate was 102bpm. He also has an urge to cough periodically. He's had these episodes happen before and the cough has helped at times. Do we need to be concerned? His father died from heart disease and started having an irregular heart beat when he was 35.
