Healthy, Elderly With Fasting Serum Glucose Level At 102. Is This In The Normal Range?
Fasting serum glucose was 102 on recent test...this one from Quest Diagnostic listed it as out of range (slightly high) previous from different lab listed 101 and was in range. It seems Quest uses 99 as upper limit of normal range. I am 62 exercise daily (cardio and strength) and everything else was in range. No history of diabetes in family and I healthy. Looking back on old tests (10 years) glucose is usually between 97 and 102 (seems to be my norm with a low of 90 and high of 104). Why does Quest list as "high"? Should I be concerned?
