Hi,I am Dr. Santosh Kondekar (Pediatrician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My eight year old son woke up at 2am on Sunday morning with c/o a headache on the front of his head. Saturday he had a baseball game from 9-1030 then baseball practice from 2-4 then soccer tryout from 6-7. So he was quite busy prior to the headache. When questioning my son about any possible head injury from any of the sports and he denied anything. When my son woke up at 2 he seemed a little out of it but mentioned this one boy at soccer so when that boy was asked if cole got hit the boy said he bumped heads with some other kid. My son does not recall and he said they only did training together and that boy that supposedly bumped his head scrimmaged in a different group anyway. So not really sure of what exactly or even if anything happened because we don't have the kids number to contact to see if he and my son actually bumped heads. He had a slight nosebleed that stopped quickly. However he did day he picked at it and then blood started. What could be going on?
there are few possiblities . 1. most likely headache and nose bleeding occur because of heat exhuastion. that is very common in this hot climate . as your son remain outside for long time he could nt have water properly and might have developed dehydration which led to headache . hot climate causes dryness of nasal mucosa which ultimately leds to bleeding if pricking is done .
as per my suggestion u should give proper rest to your child . not allowed to go outside in hot . incrase fluid intake . if bleeding occurs apply cold , ice .
watch for some days if complaints persist for long time than you should go for thorough investigation
