Your symptoms are suggestive of
occipital neuralgia. In this condition, there is a sharp shooting pain at the base of head and upper neck, which comes intermittently and last for few seconds to minutes each time.
For pain relief, you may take
pregabalin or
gabapentin capsules.
You may require
MRI of
cervical spine and brain for detailed evaluation if you do not improve with above medications.
