Head Injured. Have Headaches. Been Dizzy. What To Do?

Good afternoon Dr. I fell from a chair last Saturday (26 January 2013). My upper head was bumped into a wooden cabinet, my back hit the cement and a my butt in a pipe. I hit them so hard since I have a huge body built. my question is why until now i ve been experiencing headache on the bump part? is there something to be alarmed of? By the way, i m still conscious after bumping my head, only i felt little dizzy and was in shock for a one minute, i guess.

Neurologist 's  Response
Hi,

Thank you for posting your query.

First of all, I would like to reassure you that your symptoms are suggestive of mild head injury and there is no need to worry at present.

Headaches may persist for a few days. You may take ibuprofen tablets for relief of headaches.

Mild dizziness after mild head injury is also common.

Best wishes,

Dr Sudhir Kumar MD DM (Neurology)
Senior Consultant Neurologist
