Head Bump turned into muscle..

i bumped my head on a sliding door in 2008. i immediately applied a cold compress to it to prevent any swelling.however i have been left with a bump on my forehead ever since then.i have no pains there, just a visible bump which you can see from my frontal as well as my side view.i have tried using heat balms, ice, hot water bottles all in a bid to compress the bump on my head, but to no avail.its been eight years now and everywhere i go people ask me 'oh what happened to your head?', while others actually sneer at me and sometimes laugh.i am usually confident and not mindfull of other peoples opinions of me,but lately this issue has become a source of worry to me,and a blow to my self esteem because i no longer want to go out in public for fear of people asking me 'whats that on your head?'. Doctors please help me.thankyou, and Godbless.

Cosmetic & Plastic Surgeon 's  Response
The swelling on your head was possibly due to the injury and it cannot turn into a muscle. Some times the swelling is there from before and the injury brings it into notice.Presuming that the injury caused it,the swelling is likely to be an organised haematome(blood clot).A ultrasonography would help clinch the diagnosis.Surgical removal is the treatment of choice, contact a Plastic surgeon to remove it and he would try to give the minimum scar.
