Hello
Thanks for posting your query on Healthcare Magic
Swelling in feet can be due to many causes. Keeping consideration of your background disease few things should be ruled out
1)     Heart functions by echocardiography. Some time there may be silent heart attack in diabetic patients results in to decrease pumping ability of heart that may result in to swollen feet (edema feet)
2)     Kidney dysfunction (blood urea and serum creatinine, urine microalbuminuria are few test usually done to assess kidney functions
3)     Concentration of protein (albumin) in blood
4)     Thyroid functions
5)     Clot formations in leg veins (DVT) – not a common in this background disease but should be considered after above tests are normal
I suggest you get an opinion of doctor. Certain standard investigations are there for diabetics at regular interval, you should get these done after visiting doctor.
Hope this answers your query. If you have additional questions or follow up queries then please do not hesitate in writing to us. I will be happy to answer your queries.

DEAR SIR/MADAM

USUALLY INSULIN HAVE FLUID RETENTION EFFECT IN THE BODY WHICH CAUSES SWELLING AND SOME WEIGHT GAIN.

BUT YOU NEED TO EVALUATE FOR SOME OTHER CAUSES.
1. 2D ECHOCARDIOGRAPHY WITH VALVULAR FUNCTIONS ALONG WITH EJECTION FRACTION IS NEEDED TO CHECK.
2. DOES YOUR ORAL MEDICATIONS INCLUDE PIOGLITAZONE.
3. ELECTROLYTES ESTIMATION.

AFTER YOU GET YOUR INVESTIGATIONS DONE REVIEW IT, DEFINATELY YOU WILL FIND AN ANSWER.

THANKS
