Hello, Welcome to HCM.

Hypothyroidism is often associated with menstrual irregularities, weight gain, hoarseness, skin complaints and many a times facial hair growth. Low thyroid hormone levels can interfere with the proper functioning of the female reproductive system by affecting ovulation. Thereby causing irregular menstrual cycles, either as amenorrhea, oligomenorrhea or metrorrhagia. Conservative treatment measures usually include medicines to substitute the deficient thyroid hormones and do nothing to take care of the other associated disorders. And, not everyone may have the same symptoms in the same intensity and nature.

An ideal treatment should take care of the thyroid hormone levels, check weight gain, regularise reproductive hormones and thereby the menstrual cycles and hirsutism (facial hair growth). From experience, homoeopathy has addressed all of them together. Remedies like Calcarea Carb, Phytolacca, Fucus Ves, Thyroidinum, Iodum, Calcarea Iod, Pulsatilla, Bromium are excellent remedies.

I will be available at radha_doc@yahoo.com for further queries.
