Having Severe Chest Congestion, Cough, Exhaustion, Fever. What Could It Be?
Good morning Dr. Grief I have severe chest congestion and cough , but my real concern is the severe exhaustion. I can t stay awake for more than 30 minutes at a time. I have already had mono so I don t think its that. I don t have ins and can t afford an ER visit. No swollen glands but do have a fever of 101.1. Any ideas? Thank you! Kara
your symptoms seems of acute lower respiratory tract infection. If you can afford go for chest xray PA view and complete blood count alonwith sputum gram staining and culture sensitivity.
In the meantime you can go for tab amoxycillin clavulanic acid 625 mg twice daily and tablet azithromycin 500 mg once a day. and you can have fever relieved by tablet paracetamol.
best wishes
