Having Regular Periods With Small Breaks. Normal? How To Normalize?

Hi, so I have had my period since September 22. It is just like my normal periods, all the same. But once I was done it started off about a week to half week then the breaks started getting smaller. My mom called the clinic and talked to the doctor and said it was normal but I just don't feel like it is normal. I have talked to family about it and they said that it isn't normal at all and that I should go to the doctor but I though I would try this before we called the doctor. So what should I do?

Hi,
Thanks for writing in.

Polymenorrhea is a menstruation problem in which the menstrual cycle is not as long as normal. Where an average menstrual cycle is 28 days for most women, women who suffer from polymenorrhea have a period around every 21 days and occasionally at even shorter intervals. This condition frequently causes irregular ovulation. When it lasts for a prolonged period, its underlying causes can lead to infertility. Several conditions can cause polymenorrhea and related symptoms. It is important to recognize and get treatment for them.

The associated conditions might be one of the following:
Hormonal Imbalance
Endometriosis
Uterine Fibroid
Perimenopause
Sexually Transmitted Diseases

Hope this helps
